Thank you to all members that answered the survey. We received 70 responses. These are the highlights:
73% of the responders answered that they would likely or very likely attend to the next IBCWG.
51% of responders chose Toronto as their favorite location, while 19% chose Buenos Aires. 30% did not have a particular preference.
Among the reasons for choosing Toronto, responders mentioned proximity to their cities, cheaper flights, and constraints regarding funding for travel if the location was not within North America.
Among the reasons for choosing Buenos Aires, responders answered the importance of opening this opportunity for our colleagues in South America that may not be able to afford travel abroad.
Importantly, only 29% of responders voiced that they would unlikely or very unlikely attend the IBCWG meeting if the venue was NOT the preferred one.
In summary, we expect the next IBCWG 2020 to be held in Toronto with a minimum estimated number of 50 participants!
The complete results of the survey can be accessed through this link.
The next IBCWG meeting will be held in Dublin, Ireland on May 2-5, 2018. More details here
